Ruissalo Spa safety procedures during the COVID-19 pandemic

During the pandemic, Ruissalo Spa serves you according to the government and health authorities’ guidelines and recommendations.
We follow the latest guidelines, and for example our restaurants have partly limited their selection and opening hours. Our staff has specific instructions, and we make sure that our guests stay safe and can enjoy their visit to the fullest.

Here is how we keep our guests safe during the pandemic:

General Guidelines

  • Please do not visit us if you have any flu-like symptoms.
  • Please take care of your personal hygiene – wash your hands and be mindful of how you cough/sneeze.
  • Please keep a safe distance from other guests and staff (at least 1-2 metres/5 feet).
  • If at anytime during your visit you think you might have contracted the coronavirus (if you have symptoms or have been exposed to the virus), please interrupt your stay and get in touch with either the closest health centre, or contact the coronavirus helpline (in Turku area tel. +358 (0)2 3138800).
  • Please follow the current quarantine regulations if you have travelled outside of Finland prior to your stay at the spa. We also check with our guests from other countries that proper quarantine procedures have been followed before they arrive at the spa.

Cleaning and Sanitizing

  • Room cleaning has been enhanced.
  • Surfaces in the common areas, such as elevator buttons, railings, door handles, desks and payment terminals are also cleaned more frequently.
  • Hand sanitizer is available for guests throughout the spa hotel.

  • Please keep a safe distance from other guests and staff while checking in or otherwise interacting with the receptionists.
  • Instructions and other information is available at the notice boards.
  • Please pay with card instead of cash whenever possible.
  • There is a protective glass at the reception desk for your and the receptionists’ safety – please stay behind it.

  • According to the World Health Organization´s guidelines, well maintained and chlorinated pools do not spread the coronavirus, nor are they a health risk. However, it is recommended to keep a safe distance of at least 1 meter (3,5 feet) while swimming or in other pool areas, and to make sure you wash your hands often. Please avoid crowded areas.
  • We have limited the number of guests admitted to the spa at a time, so that keeping safe distances is easier. We have also increased the capacity of the locker rooms in accordance to the number of guests at the spa. The maximum number of guests allowed in the Jacuzzi at a time is 8. People who live in the same household can of course keep shorter distances.
  • Please keep a safe distance from other guests and staff while in the pools, the massage jets, the spa area in general, and the showers/saunas.

Restaurant & Café

  • Our restaurant and café are open with limited hours.
  • Please keep a safe distance from other guests and staff. We have made this easier by decreasing the number of seats and opening new dining spaces. Please remember to keep the safe distance also when queuing at the buffets.
  • You can also order take away. You can place your order at the restaurant, or by calling in advance.
  • Please pay with card instead of cash whenever possible.

  • Please keep a safe distance from other guests and staff.
  • Please sanitize the equipment after use. Cleaning equipment can be found at the gym. You can use your own gym mat if you like.

  • We sanitize all clubs, rackets and balls after every use.

Beauty Centre

  • Our Beauty Centre is open, and the staff wears masks during treatments if the customers so wishes. Please make reservations in advance, either by calling or online.

Conference Services

  • The number of guests at conferences is limited, so that safe distances can be kept.
  • During the pandemic, we serve water and other drinks from bottles. Other refreshments are appropriately packaged.

We warmly welcome you to enjoy your stay with us at Ruissalo Spa!
